Speaking to new entrepreneurs you get to see a lot of things.  Many beginners and those who are stuck in a plateau and unable to grow are often told “go knock on a few doors”, or “go to a few networking events and hustle”.  The problem with these phrases is not that they aren’t correct…. It’s that no one ACTUALLY wants to go do it…. So I think it’s time we tackle this problem head on, and I do mean HEAD on… because it’s a mindset issue and nothing more.

It’s the beginning of a new year, resolutions are abound, the gym will be full for that first month, and then after that, everything goes back to “normal”.  Why is it that we humans spend so much time TALKING about hustle, but don’t really spend a lot of time doing it?  The answer is astonishingly simple, we are lazy.  Many of us given the choice will choose the lazy or easy way to do something vs the hard work route.  You have chosen the lazy way, I have, everyone I know has at some point.  Now that we have the uncomfortable part out of the way, how do we fix it?

Let’s first define hustle… because it’s a very nebulous word that can mean so many things to so many different people.  When I say hustle, I mean putting every single minute you can and every last drop of effort you have into achieving your goal.

When you have passion around something, you’ll do whatever it takes to execute on it. You will grind away working long hours because you have that passion.  So I ask you first things first…. Do you have passion for what you are doing?  If not, then stop immediately.  You can’t truly hustle if you don’t have passion for what you are hustling on.

Every minute needs to count. There is so much hustle in my day I don’t even have a second to spare for those who want to “pick my brain” or, “catch up”, or whatever term they use to kill time because they have nothing better to do with that time.  I chose the life of the entrepreneur, I signed up for it, it’s what I love, and it’s what allows me to get the things done that I seek to accomplish.  Now I do want to clarify that it doesn’t mean I spend every waking minute working.  I would probably go completely crazy if I didn’t enjoy life, but when I am working… I AM HUSTLING…. Can you say the same?

Not getting enough leads?  HUSTLE MORE
Not getting enough sales?  HUSTLE MORE
Not getting enough engagements booked?  HUSTLE MORE
Not getting the results you want?  HUSTLE MORE

When an opportunity presents itself, (to quote one of my favorite artists right now… Ke$ha!!) “on your ass we’ll pounce like a panther”.  Pounce on that opportunity and HUSTLE!  Hustle like your life depends on it… because it does.

You only have so much time you can commit to things so be sure that when you commit to something that it is going to be beneficial and worth the time you will spend HUSTLING to make it work.  Remember those who helped your hustle and always be building value for what you do.  If you can build value for others then you will naturally grow and your hustle will have compounding positive results!

So now I ask…. are you willing to hustle to make it happen? Are you willing to work 16+ hours a day to get it done? Are you willing to truly HUSTLE.  Can you do what it takes to make you and your business great while providing value?  Can you put out great work and hustle. Wake up before everybody else and hustle?  Go to bed after everyone else and hustle?  Dream about how hard you hustle?  Then wake up and hustle all over again?

If so then I proclaim that 2015 is the year of the HUSTLE, and you are official part of it.  If you made it this far in this article then I know you have some HUSTLE in you… how much more are you willing to give?  The more you hustle the more you succeed.  It’s that simple.

If you liked this article, share it with at least 1 friend who needs to be part of the year of HUSTLE as well!
